Sridharini Sridharan

A student of KALA SADHANALAYA started her learning in Bharata Natyam under the able guidance and tutelage of Smt. Revathi Ramachandran Founder, Kala Sadhanalaya) at the age of 7 in 1994.

Performed her Salangai Pooja in September, 1997.

She performed her Arangetram on 21st July, 2000 at Bharathiya Vidhya Bhavan, in Chennai which was presided over by Mr.R.Seshasayee, (Managing Director, Ashok Leyland Limited)and the Chief Guest was Dr.Padma Subramanyam, Director, Nrithyodaya, Chennai.

 Taken part in many programmes and Dance Ballet conducted by Kala Sadhanalaya.

Her performance as "Vinayaka" in the TV Serial "Deiveegath thirumanangal" in 1995 was appreciated by one and all.

Apart from learning the theory of Bharatha Natyam, she has also learnt "Nattuvangam" from her Guru Smt. Revathi Ramachandran.

She has accompanied Smt. Revathi Ramachandran as an artist on Nattuvangam for the past two years and she has done Nattuvangam for her during the December dance festival.

She has performed in the IDA festival in 1998.

In IDA programme, 2002, she has done Nattuvangam for the ballet "Kothai Padiya Pavai" which was choreographed by her Guru Smt.Revathi Ramachandran.

She has accompanied her Guru for the SPIC - MACAY Dance performance at various places - Udipi, Dharmasthala, etc., in Karnataka.

She has been learning carnatic music under the guidance of Smt.V.Nandini.

She was awarded the "Smt.T.Balasaraswathy Endowment Award" for "ABHINAYANAM" from "SRI KRISHNA GANA SABHA" in December, 2002 (for her performance on 8th January, 2002).

She has passed the Lower grade examination in Music and dance conducted by Govt. of Tamil Nadu in 2002.

Ramya Badrinarayanan

Ramya Badri, a keen and hardworking student of Bharatanatyam, started learning dance from her mother. She had formal training both in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music from Bhagavatulu Sitarama Sharma.

Ramya started her training under Revathi Ramachandran in the year 1999 and had her arangetram in the year 2002. Apart from solo

programs, she has also participated in many dance productions of Kalasadhanalaya. She also had the privilege of performing with her guru at various dance festivals like the Natyanjali festival at Chidambaram, 'Spirit of Unity' Concert at Music Academy, Chennai, to name a few. She has also particpated in the Lecture cum Demonstrations of her guru, for SPIC MACAY at Nagpur and at the Indian Fine Arts Society, Chennai. At present, Ramya is learning Carnatic music from Sri Vairamangalam Lakshminarayanan of Kalakshetra.

A bright student in academics, she has won many merit scholarships and awards. Besides, she's an advance level student of Japanese Language at the Indo Japan Centre, Madras and is the recipient of the prestigious prize in the Japanese Speech Contest held by the Government of Japan.

Ramya is now pursuing her M.B.A.


Manasvini's Dancing Career

Manasvini - the nine year old daughter/disciple of Revathi Ramachandran started her career in dance by performing first as Child Krishna in the production of Kala Sadhanalaya on 21st April 2001 for Nandala Seva Samithi.

She has performed on more than 30 stages and has been appreciated for her sincerity towards the art. She started her tutelage under her mother from the tender age of six. She participated in the tele-movie-Gaana Parambarai - depicting the life of Saint Thirugnaanasambandar as Child Gnana Sambandar.

She also played the role of Andal in the Doordarshan feature 'Manamkulir Margazhi' during the month of December'02 - January'03.

Manasvini had the unique privilege of having her Salangai Poojai performed with the blessings and in the presence of Dr.Padma Subrahmanyam in January 2002 .

FORMAL DANCE DEBUT (ARANGETRAM) WAS HELD ON 3rd APRIL 2003. Those who were present and blessed Manasvini on this occasion include Gurus Sudharani Raghupathy, Dhananjayans, Narasimhacharis, Prof.C.V.Chandrasekhar, Guru Sarasa.

She was part of the troupe, which participated at the Natyanjali Festival held at Chidambaram this year and won the appreciation of the audience.

Performed as child Krishna in the production Aayar Kula Tilakam - presented at Pune under the auspicies of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on 3rd May 2003.

Performed for UDAYAN-in Mumbai on the 10th May 2003, and won the appreciation of stalwarts like Darshana Jhaveri, noted Manipuri dancer and others.
