performances are rooted deep in Tamil literature. These dance

AMBALATHIL
AADUM JYOTHI
In praise of Lord Siva and covering various aspects of 'bhakti'
in a smooth interrelation of philosophic thought and artistic
concepts. The Anandha Thandava of Shiva as Nataraja symbolises
the Pancha Kritya or the aspects of creation, sustenance,
destruction, obscuration and salvation. 'Ambalathil Adum Jyoti'
elaborates these aspects of Shiva Natraja using songs and
poems from ancient Tamil Saivaite Literature and from works
of both ancient and contemporary poets- Music by Sri.B.Ragavendra
Rao. |

JAYA
JAYA BHARATHAM
visualised and presented to commemorate the golden jubilee
celebration of Indian Independence, received well deserved
appreciation from the press and connoisseurs. Songs of Viswanatha
Sastri, Bharathiyar, Namakkal Kavignar and Azha. Valliappa
have been used to provide an insight into the greatness of
India. The feature concludes with The Indian National Song

AAYAR
KULA THILAKAM
based on the Divya Prabandham, an ancient 16th century work,
depicts the birth of Krishna, antics with the gopikas, and
Andal’s dream of her wedding to Krishna. The ballet
incorporates verses from Tirupallandu, Kannan Avathara Chirappu,
Undhi Para, and Kuzhal Udhar Chirappu.Music by S Rajeswari. |
